Embroidery & Print Production Manager

Reports to: Director

Job Purpose: 
To provide an effective and efficient printing and embroidery service for the Company through careful managing of production team and resources.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • This is a hands-on role and involves managing the production team to ensure all garments are embroidered and printed to required standards and timescales
  • Responsible for managing in-house resources for printing and embroidery of school, club and corporate garments 
  • Managing the recruitment and training of the team

Day-to-day management of team members/resources:

  • For embroidery of logos, initials etc on clothing and other items
  • Managing team resource for printing of logos and numbers for clothing and other items; involving: weeding of decorations and heat pressing; establishing where additional help may be required.
  • Ensure adequate levels of embroidery and printing materials/resources to meet demands
  • Maintenance and systematic filing of print and embroidery resources
  • Ensuring regular maintenance/house-keeping of embroidery and print machines
  • Maintaining positive working relationships with other departments including working with sales team to develop their knowledge and ensure that staff quoting customers are briefed on best or most cost-effective methods to achieve results
  • Upholding a clean, safe, and pleasant working environment
  • Develop relevant knowledge and skills for production activities, keeping up-to-date with latest technologies, fabrics etc. by reading and attending relevant trade shows

Qualifications/Knowledge and Experience

  • Previous experience in production activity, but not necessarily within garment embroidery, vinyl or DTG printing
  • Previous experience in management, supervisor or leadership position
  • Positive attitude to building relationships and leading a team
  • Good written and verbal communication and organisational skills with ability to work on own initiative
  • Enthusiasm for developing product and wider business knowledge
  • Full UK driving licence

Shop Manager

Reports to: Director

Job Purpose:
Responsible for general running of Bourne End shop, meeting targets, overseeing staff and ensuring a positive customer service experience.  

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Serving customers in an efficient manner and maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction – together with building relationships
  • ​Knowledge of retail systems including daily cashing up and accuracy of till  
  • Oversee, day to day staffing including managing and motivating the team to increase sales and ensure efficiency
  • Being responsible for general updating maintaining of stock system and ad-hoc stock checks as required
  • Ensure promotions are accurate and stock merchandised to the company’s standards
  • Managing stock levels and liaising with Director on other items for stocking or promotion
  • Positively responding to customer comments, complaints and appropriate escalation
  • Maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry, monitoring what local competitors and businesses are doing
  • Develop relevant knowledge and skills of products within sports trade
  • Help initiate any changes to improve the business or processes
  • Identifying or resolving urgent issues or escalating any issues where appropriate
  • Handling initial enquiries for clubs and companies including embroidery and printing of goods and directing to the sales team
  • Ensuring standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met and that shop is kept clean and tidy

Qualifications/Knowledge and Experience:

  • Previous retail management or 3+ years retail or similar customer-facing experience
  • Sport industry experience an advantage and/or interest in sports
  • Good communication and organisational skills with ability to work on own initiative
  • Driving licence
  • Must be physically fit

Overall responsibility for the smooth running of the Bourne End store and ensuring a 5-star customer experience. General day-to-day overseeing of staff, stock promotions and merchandising. Previous retail experience or customer-facing role a must and sports industry knowledge would be an advantage. 

Hours: Monday to Saturday, 9.00 to 5.30 with day off in the week
